Queen Saturday- Royale Queen to be- Lauren

Today’s Queen Saturday takes us all the way to bonnie Scotland to interview the lovely Lauren who is competing in the Miss Royale UK commotion, ran by former Miss Great Britain and Galaxy Scotland winner Deone Robertson.

Lauren placed first runner up last year, and is back with a vengeance. Have a read of her pageant journey to the crown!

Thank you Lauren for talking to us today! Can you tell me your current title and how you have been preparing for the finals!

I am currently a finalist for Miss Royale UK. With the finals just around the corner on the 28th July I am eating, sleeping and breathing pageant prep at the moment! Trying to balance working 2 jobs, squeezing in as many appearances as possible and planning my outfits is proving quite a challenge at the moment but I am absolutely loving it!

A pageant girl is always juggling, it should be a sport! Do you have any plans if you were to win? Does Royale have an international to plan for?

Royale doesn't actually lead on to an international pageant, but it proves a fantastic system to learn more about yourself and the kind of queen you want to be. If I take the crown, I hope to use my year to continue to support my wonderful pageant friends by attending as many pageants in the UK as possible (and maybe squeeze in a little trip to an international?).

I would also love to encourage more girls to start getting into pageantry, it has proved such an incredible outlet for me over the years to build self confidence and meet a fabulous new sisterhood - some of my very best friends have come from pageantry and I wouldn't change it for the world!

So true! Now with pageants, most girls have a platform, from charity to a movement that they support. Can you tell us what your platform is?

I currently support Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity. All funds raised go directly to providing specialist equipment, family support services and play programmes to babies and children spending time in hospital.

For some of these little ones they spend more time in hospital then they do at home, so being able to be
part of something that makes them feel more comfortable and their families better supported means the world.

Amazing work! Tell us what your favourite round is, in pageantry?

I really love fashion wear! For me, my fashion round outfit is a true opportunity to express my personality and definitely allows me to be a lot more sassy on stage! Although to be honest, I thrive on anything where I can throw on some glitter!

Well, our name tells you that we like sparkles! Can you tell us your best moment in pageantry, so far?

Competing in Royale last year and coming first runner up. It sounds weird to say my best moment was not winning, but there's really no way to describe the feeling of holding your friends hand as you watch their dreams come true and that was the case when the gorgeous Rebecca was crowned last year! It's also motivated me to work hard and be my best in preparation for Royale 2019, coming so close makes you want it even more!

Lastly, what advice could you give to new pageant queens?

Enjoy every single moment. You spend up to a year preparing and then pageant weekend is over in the blink of an eye. Remember that those girls you're sharing a stage with are your sisters, your pageant family. Do what you can to support one another and show them so much love because you will rely on one another during finals time!

Finally, show everyone the support and appreciation you would expect your fellow contestants to show you - there's nothing worse than seeing someone on stage not applauding the winner! We all feel disappointment if we don't get that crown we've worked so hard for, but there's a time and place to express it and it's definitely in the privacy of your bedroom once you get home!
